List one or two thoughts on things you learned in class on internet safety

I didn't realize that it is so easy to hack other people's password and username. Nevertheless, I'm glad that the big companies (Google, various banks) and different browsers are changing to stay ahead of the bad guys.

Take an inventory of your own computer. Do you have anti-virus? Do you stay up to date with Windows/Mac patches? Do you let your browser update?

I run a trial version of McAfee and also AVG. I also check regularly for software updates from Windows. But mostly, I use common sense and stay away from websites that seem sketchy.

Is there anything you can do to be more secure online? If so list them and write a sentence or two on each how how they can be a security threat.

I have started changing my passwords and using a system to remember each log-in password, while still keeping them different. I learned that trick from a dude sitting next to me on a flight from Beijing to LA. I don't just use one password, but many different ones.
